CULTURAI at the Coordinators Day in Brussels, 15-16 September 2026

On 15 and 16 September 2026, the CULTURAI team took part in the Coordinators' Days in Brussels, organised by the European Commission for coordinators of newly funded EU projects. The event focused on the start of the projects: practical information, sharing experiences and connecting with other projects. CULTURAI was represented by Dr. Aida Salcic, CULTURAI Project Manager at project coordinator, KB, National Library of the Netherlands, together with Prof. Xin Gu, Scientific Lead at project partner, Monash University European Research Foundation ETS.

On 16 September, Aida Salcic presented CULTURAI in one of the pitching sessions. We also met the European Commission’s colleagues (CULTURAI Project Officer from the European Research Executive Agency – REA, and the DG RTD Policy Officers) involved in our project and those working on European policy on AI and culture.

The meeting took place in the European Commission's Covent Garden building in Brussels and brought together more than 150 participants.

A key theme was "clustering": projects funded under the same topic are encouraged to collaborate and tackle shared challenges together. CULTURAI has already connected with projects such as HUMAIN and EAiCCi.

The meeting was a great first step after the project's official start on 1 September 2026.
